Social Justice and Racial Healing
(2017Â - 2023)
Talking Techquity 2021 builds on our 2019 success with three new multi-cultural workshop themes. Each theme will explore community interest in redeveloping an iconic downtown building into an inclusive year-round Innovation Center.
The goal of each workshop is to promote community healing through restorative practices, build new relationships across racial boundaries, and envision ways and means for sustained funding to support social justice initiatives, public engagement, and economic development.
OUR CAUSES
Stronger together.
ADVOCACY: URBAN RESEARCH
to host for-credit academic courses that count toward the completion of an academic degree or certificate program
ENGAGEMENT: EDUCATION
that stimulate interest in a variety of curricular, co- curricular, and extra-curricular activities that require access to computer and physical laboratory settings.
INNOVATION: ENTREPRENEURSHIP
to systematize and streamline the creation and evaluation of sustained, equitable, and accountable researcher-practitioner partnerships for new and existing initiatives.
ACCESS: WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
to teach educators, volunteers, and service-learning students to deliver grand challenge and learning lab curricula for all ages.
