Planetary Explorer (June 20 - 24)

Take a journey across our solar system with us! We’ll see how the solar system got its shape, why the planets are where they are today, and how they formed. We’ll look at the geology of our rocky neighbors and our home on Earth, learn all the weird and powerful weather that happens in our solar system, and we’ll even look at the places we’re most likely to find aliens!

In Planetary Explorer, students will learn about each of the eight planets in our solar system. This survey will include deeper exploration into plate tectonics, vulcanism, and weather fronts. Each of these will be connected to Earth as well as other planets in our solar system, and even exoplanets.  Students will also learn the basics of nuclear fusion and the life cycle of stars from formation to death. In connecting our knowledge of stars and planets we will take a closer look at how gravity holds all of these things together.
